Here is a short slideshow with images from Snagov Monastery, where Vlad Dracula's grave was supposed to be. However, the argue around Dracula's tomb is still ongoing and, as the battle in which he died took place south from Bucharest, it might be another monastery than Snagov the one where people took his body after the fight. and that one might be Comana.
This amateur video presents images from Snagov Monastery, where Vlad III Dracula was allegedly been buried, as well as from Bucegi Mountains, seen from the national road and from Bran Castle.
Two places presented as "Dracula places", but which probably where only visited by Vlad Ţepeş once. We know Snagov is very probable NOT the burial place of Vlad Ţepeş. Also, the images from Bran Castle are nice, so they help having an idea about the look of the castle, seen from outside but also pictures from the castle's inner court and from the rooms.
Here is the third part of the Documentary in Italian, made by RAI Due about Vlad Dracula. They went to Snagov Monastery to find out the truth about the burrial place of Vlad III. Altough a body has been found, wearing royal clothes, the truth is still unknown:
Here is a nice vide-clip about Snagov Monastery, where Dracula is said to be burried. Snagov Monastery is placed on an isle on Snagov Lake, 40 km North to Bucharest.
Inside the monatery we can find the largest assembly of medieval frescoes from Wallachia, dating from the XVIth century.
Vlad the Impaler is supposed to be burried here, after being killed in the nearby forest. In the middle of the church a thumb has been discovered, with bones of a man in precious clothes. As the priest explained to me five years ago, his thumb is placed right in front of the altar, so that he obtain forgivness when the priest goes to the altar passin on his thumb.
Then we can see other buildings of Vlad Dracula: Targoviste - his firs royal court, Poienari Castle and the old court in Bucharest (I remind Vlad was the first ruler that moved the royal court to Bucharest)
Comana Monastery, south to Bucharest, has been build by Vlad Tepes in the XV-th century and rebuilt at the end of the XVI-th century.
The final part of the movie Dark Prince. The Truth about Dracula presents Vlad fighting his brother Radu in Snagov monastery and initially defeating him. However Radu is not alone and the guards help him. His father-in-low Aron as well as Father Stefan are all there. He is considered Antichrist for fighting his own people and his own religion, however he explains he did never fight God! Betrayed by father Stefan, that Dracula accused has killed his father Vlad Dracul, he finally gets killed by Radu, his own brother. Here I have to mention the movie is fara away from the historic truth, most evidence presents Vlad Dracula's death as on the battlefield, somewhere in the southern part of Bucharest (I'll post more especially about this as it seems to be a lot of controversial about the death of Vlad III Dracula - the place as well as the way he died.
Father Stefan dies by heart attack when he meets Dracula's phantom, the doomed spirit rest undead for etenity:
I found this very nice short documentary about Dracula:
While is true that Vlad did not live in Bran Castle, the rest of the documentary is correct and I recommend it for having a first idea about Vlad III - Dracula !
The narrator says about Snagov Monastery: "there is no way to get there but by boat", however in the winter of 2005 I guided two American photographers there and passed on the ice covering the whole lake! Also the villagers in the movie don't look like Gypsy (as he says) :). Maybe one of them is the guy that walked next to us in the winter and took the biggest risk of an ice crash. (he was fishing in the lake). Also there are very intense controversial about Snagov Monastery being the place where the body of Vlad the Impaler is buried.
